Ruth J. Wissmann

Ruth J. Wissmann, 79, of Pella, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton.

Ruth JoAnne Wissmann was born on Nov. 7, 1936, on the home farm in the town of Pella, Shawano County, to Louis and Leona (Braun) Wissmann. She graduated from Shawano High School and remained a lifelong resident of the town of Pella.

In her early years, Ruth was employed for some time at the Hortonville Toy Factory and then she did seasonal work for several area canning factories in Clintonville and Green Bay. Then Ruth worked for some time in housekeeping at the Behling Memorial Home, Clintonville, and ManorCare Health Services, Shawano, until her retirement.

Ruth was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pella, where she was active for so many years in all sorts of activities and church projects. She liked cooking, taking care of her yard and working in her flower garden, especially growing the most beautiful begonia plants. Ruth enjoyed all her farm cats, going out to eat and watching “Cooking with Amy” whenever possible.

Survivors include many cousins, numerous friends and neighbors, and her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carl Wissmann.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Pella.

The Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in Ruth’s memory to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
