Diana C. Moesch

Diana C. Moesch, 75, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Irish Meadow Homes in Denmark, surrounded by her family.

Diana was born on Sept. 24, 1940, in South Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Clarence and Martha (Malleck) Niehusen. She attended school in South Milwaukee, graduating from South Milwaukee High School in 1958. Following high school she worked at Allen Bradley. On July 15, 1961, she was united in marriage to Gerald “Jiggs” Moesch at St. Albert’s Church in South Milwaukee. Following their marriage, she continued to work at Allen Bradley, then at E-Z Painter.

Diana and Jiggs moved in 1977 to Howards Grove, where Diana was employed at KW Muth and Johnsonville Sausage. In 1988, the family moved to Shawano and purchased the Washington Resort, which they renamed Jiggs Resort. Diana and Jiggs owned and operated the resort until they sold it in 1997.

Diana was a member of the Shawano County Tavern League. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, her gardens, and trips to the casino with Marvin and Judi Popp.

Survivors include her daughters, Valerie (Steven) Heck, of Sheboygan, Pamela (Kevin) Weyers, of Sheboygan Falls, Lauretta (Bob Earley) Jackson, of Oconto, and Theresa (Jim) Schafer, of Howards Grove; her grandchildren, Stephanie (fiancé Ben) Heck, Joseph Heck, Samantha (fiancé Tony) Heck, Joshua (Kallie) Philipps, William Philipps, Sean Philipps, Jacob Philipps, Katheryn Barthels, Nicole (fiancé Charlie) Barthels, Cassandra Schafer, Devon Schafer, Amanda Schafer; stepgranddaughter, Melissa (Mike) Shober; six great-grandchildren; her brother, Earl (Loretta) Niehusen, of Cudahy; her brothers-in-law, Marvin (Judy) Popp and Howard (Shirley) Popp; her sisters-in-law, Karen (Steve) Van Ryzin and Jackie Popp; and several nieces and nephews.

Diana was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, on Feb. 5, 2008; her brother, Marvin Niehusen; her son-in-law, Steven Philipps; her granddaughter, Melissa Moesch; and her brother-in-law, Albert Popp.

Funeral services for Diana C. Moesch will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service. The Rev. Luke Ferris will officiate. Relatives and friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of service. Burial will take place at Lake Drive Cemetery.
