Adolph J. Paholke
Adolph “Junior” John Paholke, 82, of Gillett, went home to his Savior on Jan. 8, 2017, unexpectedly, at his home.
Adolph was born in the Township of Hintz on Oct. 29, 1934, to the late Adolph and Anna (Arndt) Paholke. He married Rose Ruch on Jan. 8, 1955, at St. John Lutheran Church in Hayes. He attended Christ Lutheran Church in Hintz, where his children and many of his extended family continue to attend.
Adolph worked at Linwood Manufacturing and Carter Airport in Pulaski until his retirement. Adolph also worked cutting firewood for Laverne Hinkfuss. He loved playing the harmonica, button box and the accordion, playing in several bands.
Adolph enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and participating in the Abrams Accordion Club. He was an active member at Christ Lutheran Church, where he held several offices and regularly attended Bible study.
Adolph is survived by his four children, John (Cheryl) Paholke, of Bonduel, Mary (friend Don Timm) Block, of Suring, Gary Paholke, of Gillett, and Joan (John) Diehl, of Suring; four siblings, Allen (Lois) Paholke, of Gillett, Elaine (Claire) Hertwig, of Gillett, Sandy (Jim) Hansen, of Gillett, Linda (Bill) Bublitz, of Lena; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Mildred Pethke, Ervin (Dorothy) Doehler and Paul (Bonnie) Ruch; 12 grandchildren, Jeremy Paholke, Charity (Jason) Schiltz, Joshua (Autumn) Paholke, Nathan (April) Block, Robby (Jenni) Block, Shawn Paholke, Cassie (Keith) Trevor, Jason (Kristina) Shepherd, Jamie (Ellie) Shepherd, Jessie Shepherd, Joshua (Lindsay) Diehl and Justin Diehl; 24 great-grandchildren, Sami, Sierra, Rhett, Ridge, Maxwell, Sophia, Xander, Hailey, Wyatt, Ethan, Rosalyn, Isaac, Jayley, Jordon, Cordell, Anthony, Donte, Cody, Hope, Connor, Eyanna, Keegan, Lorelei and Johnathan; son-in-law, Ruben Block. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rose; daughter-in-law, Debbie Paholke; brothers, Neil Paholke and Frederick Paholke; sisters, Ann Koch and Marlene Paholke; granddaughter, Sharla Paholke.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at Christ Lutheran Church in Hintz from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Michael Paholke officiating. Adolph will be interred in the church cemetery.
