Lions’ concert features Clintonville musicians

Event raises funds for wheelchair ramp project

The Clintonville Lions Club is planning a concert featuring local musical talent later this month.

“A Night With Ben, Tara and Friends” will be presented at 7 p.m. May 25 at Christ Congregational Church, 70 S Main St., Clintonville.

The concert will feature Ben Huber and Tara Fietsch along with several other local musicians.

“Those who attend will certainly be delighted, and may even be surprised, with the quality of our local talent,” said Ralph Williams, president of the Clintonville Lions. “It is with great pleasure we sponsor this opportunity to bring all this local talent together for a concert.”

Williams said Huber and Fietsch were approached by Lion Jill Meyer, pastor of Christ Congregational Church, about doing a show as a fundraiser for the Lions to construct and install wheelchair ramps for those in need. The duo agreed without hesitation.

Fietsch said music for the show will come from all genres, and it will be music that young and old will like. She said the concert will feature both individual and group performances.

Funds raised that evening will come in the form of free-will donations. The women of Christ Congregational Church will provide cookies and refreshments.

A PowerPoint presentation will show the 46 ramps the Clintonville Lions have built in and around Clintonville since beginning the service project in 1999.
