Thomas J. Goodrich

Thomas “Tom” James Goodrich, 58, of Mountain, formerly of Kiel, passed away at his home with his wife, Colleen, service animal and pet dog by his side on Wednesday morning, July 26, 2017.

Tom was born on April 27, 1959, to Carlton and Marilyn (Klaeser) Goodrich, of Kiel. After Tom graduated high school in 1978, he enlisted in the Army, where he found a love of nature and independence. He later married Colleen Humphrey (May 20, 2006) and resided in Mountain on their farmette.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman. He was very knowledgeable about nature and animals. He enjoyed hunting and trapping. You could often find Tom hiking in his own backyard (a backyard he shared with the Nicolet National Forest). He spent many hours tending to the pollinator fields that he and his wife, Colleen, had behind their house. Tom had grown to love raising honeybees and had a deep admiration for their role in sustaining agriculture and nature itself. He believed that knowing where your food comes from is just as important as treating all animals humanely.

Tom is survived by his wife, Colleen (Humphrey) Goodrich, Mountain; one daughter, Nicole (Anthony) Piscia, Milwaukee; and his mother, Marilyn Goodrich, Neenah, formerly of Kiel. He is also survived by two sisters and two brothers, Carla (Mike) Lehman, Florida, Pamela Goodrich, Florida, Rick Goodrich, Florida, and Steven (Laurie) Goodrich, Neenah; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; Tom is survived by his mother in-law, Loretta Humphrey; three sisters in-law, Carla (Jim) Bushmaker, Eunice (Mark) Kamps and Gail (Jon) Lesperance; and many nieces and nephews.

Tom’s father, Carlton “Cully” Goodrich, preceded Tom in death, along with his older sister, Sandra, and her husband, Tom Weborg; also preceded in death by his father in-law, Duane Humphrey.

Per Thomas wishes, there will be a military honor service to honor Tom. It will take place on Friday, Aug. 11, from 1-3 p.m. at Mountain Cemetery, 14097 Silver Hill Road, Mountain, WI 54149.
