Authorities are still investigating a wrong-way crash that took the lives of three people, including two children, on state Highway 29 Friday.

The Wisconsin State Patrol said Tuesday that no additional information about the crash was being released at this time.

The state patrol and Shawano County sheriff’s deputies responded just before 9:30 p.m. to a report of a vehicle traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes on Highway 29 near County Road K, according to the sheriff’s department.

Shortly after it was reported, the eastbound vehicle collided with a westbound vehicle on Highway 29 near County Road T in the town of Waukechon, based on a preliminary crash investigation.

The eastbound vehicle was driven by Brian E. Bishop, 38, of Bonduel, who passed away from injuries he sustained in the crash.

The westbound vehicle was driven by a 34-year-old Mary Wester, of Manitowoc, who sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.

Also in her vehicle were five other occupants. Two of the occupants passed away from injuries sustained in the crash, according to the state patrol.

The state patrol, which is handling the crash investigation, reported that the deceased were a 9-year-old boy and 7-year-old girl.

Authorities have not released their names. However, a GoFundMe page set up online to raise funds for one of the families identifies the girl as Kadenz McCollum, of Manitowoc. The page also states that 10-year-old Santanna McCollum was also seriously injured in the crash and is paralyzed from the waist down.

Online obituaries identify the 9-year-old as Eli James Plagemann, of Kiel.

The Shawano County Sheriff’s Department is assisting the state patrol with the crash investigation.

Also assisting were the Bonduel Police Department, Shawano Ambulance Service, NEW 50 Ambulance Service, Shawano Fire Department, Bonduel Fire Department and the Shawano County Highway Department.
