Church presents ‘Christmas in KidCity’

Hillside Assembly of God will present its annual Christmas musical, “Christmas in KidCity,” written by Dave Clark and Emily Mingledorff on Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m.

The musical has a creative approach to the Christmas story look at Jesus through the lens of both the Old Testament and New Testament.

The adventure unfolds in a children’s church. Zach, played by Devyn Larson, Joy, played by Clara Schaal, and Josie, played by Grace Simpson talk about Christmas with Ms. Eugenia, played by Amber Carlson. The audience will also find out how Izzy, played by Carrie Gomber, got her name, and will also find it hard to forget the witty jokes of Steve, played by Evan Rennie.

Also added into the mix this year will be two different stix routines made with teams of kids and teens from grades 3-10. STIX is a dance routine done with dowel rods to illustrate a song. The kids and teens will be presenting “One King,” by Point of Grace and “Joy Joy,” by David Phelps. The 8th Day Stomp Team, an unconventional drumline, will be playing “Little Drummer Boy.”

Hillside Assembly is located at 5890 State Highway 22, Gillett. There will be a gift for all who come.
