Q Where did your interest in playing basketball begin?

A Sports in general is a popular thing in my family, so basketball runs in the family. Along with that, seeing my sister play throughout middle school and high school gave me more interest.

Q What’s your favorite part about playing the game?

A Basketball has always given me adrenaline and it’s always been my outlet when I need to relieve stress.

Q What do you think contributes to you being the top scorer and a leader on the team?

A My teammates are the biggest contributors, they screen for me and get me open. We all work well together and we play for each other. I’ve looked forward to being a captain ever since I was little, and I knew I had to work hard to get there.

Q What have you done in the offseason, along with your underclassman years, to establish yourself as a key contributor this year?

A I did many things to improve my skills over the years. I participated in a fall league for three years, along with open gyms, camps, and coming to shoot during the summer and early in the mornings before school. Whenever I had the chance to shoot outside at home I was out there with my sister or even friends that came over.

Q What’s your goal for your final season, both personal and for the team?

A My personal goal is to get a conference award and average 18 points per game. For a team goal, I hope we get a good seed for playoffs and do well in conference, and keep growing as a team.

Q What is your favorite memory of playing Bonduel basketball?

A There are a lot of memories that come along when playing sports in a small town like Bonduel. Coming from a small town, some schools underestimated our talents. One of the best memories was scoring 32 in a game against Reedsville.

Q What athlete do you look up to and why?

A Someone I have always looked up to as an athlete is Kobe Bryant, because he always tried his hardest and gave me motivation to keep working on my skills.

Q Do you have any pregame rituals?

A Before every home game I go in the weight room and do dribbling drills, visualize the game and gain focus before we go up for warmups.

Q What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time?

A I love the outdoors, so if I’m not in the gym or hanging out with my girlfriend, I’m usually hunting, fishing or snowmobiling.

Q Favorite TV show, movie, musical artist?

A My favorite TV show would have to be “The Walking Dead,” because it keeps you entertained. My favorite movie is “Christmas Vacation,” because it’s something you can always watch with your family. My favorite musical artist is Drake because his songs get me pumped before the games.

Q Do you have a favorite quote or verse?

A “You can’t win unless you learn how to lose.” — Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
