Q Where did your interest in playing basketball begin?

A I’m the only girl out of nine boy cousins, and we always had competitions in basketball since around fourth grade.

Q What’s your favorite part about playing the game?

A My favorite part is always getting pumped before the game and ready to play competitively with my friends.

Q What do you think contributes to you being a strong player as a freshman on the team?

A Definitely my teammates and coaches. The seniors this year are amazing and always encouraging me, as well as my coaches. My parents are always cheering me on as well.

Q What have you done in the offseason to establish yourself as a varsity player?

A I practice a lot. I try to shoot around 2-3 times per week and practice my skills, so I can contribute in helping the team.

Q What’s your goal for your first season, both personal and for the team?

A My goal is to keep a positive attitude and never give up. I just want my team to be able to rely on me. I want us to make the top three in (Central Wisconsin-East) conference and have a winning record.

Q How does it feel being the second-leading scorer on the team as a freshman?

A It feels amazing! Coming into the season, I didn’t expect to be playing much or to be scoring as much as I am. I also thought basketball was going to be a “job,” as some would say, but I enjoy competing every day.

Q What is your favorite memory of playing Witt-Birn basketball?

A My favorite memory so far is my first varsity game, because everyone believed in me and was cheering my team and me on.

Q Do you have any pregame rituals?

A My team and I sit in the locker room and listen to pump up music.

Q Who is your favorite sports team, and why?

A My favorite team is the Golden State Warriors, because they have great teamwork and can persevere through anything.

Q Do you have a favorite quote or verse?

A “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13
