Spring break activities at Shawano library

During next week’s spring break, the main branch of the Shawano County Library, 128 S. Sawyer St., will host a number of free activities for children, teens and families.

They’ll start off the vacation week at 5 p.m. Monday with dinner and a movie, featuring the film “Wonder,” rated PG. Dinner will include sliced ham sandwiches, vegetables and beverages. Popcorn, of course, will also be served.

On Tuesday, Baby & Me storytime will start at 10 a.m. for children 24 months and younger, along with a caregiver. From noon to 1 p.m., the library will host a Mutiny Escape Room. It is designed for kids ages 12 and older, however younger children can participate with a caregiver. The Stikbot Studio will open at 3 p.m. and allow teens to make their very own stop-motion animations.

A storytime for all ages will start Wednesday at 10 a.m. Make-and-take crafts are available from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on a drop-in basis.

The drop-in crafts will also be available next week Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. A children’s book sale will start Thursday at 8 a.m. and run through 6 p.m., and children of all ages are invited to “Gather ‘Round” for storytime at 10 a.m.

The children’s book sale continues from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 16, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 17.
