Q When did your interest in soccer begin?

A My interest for soccer began when I was in sixth grade.

Q What’s your favorite part about a soccer match or the soccer season?

A My favorite part about a soccer match is having a really good shot or a perfect pass to a teammate that eventually helps my team score. My favorite part about the season is spending time with my teammates and making memories on and off the field.

Q You’ve enjoyed a strong start to the season. What’s helped you get off to such a strong start?

A My past experience in soccer and on varsity has helped me to know what my competition is when going into a match. My teammates are also a huge part of the goals I score because without working as a team, we wouldn’t accomplish anything. The passes they make help me to get the scoring opportunities.

Q What things are you looking to improve individually and as a team as the season progresses to prepare for the postseason?

A Individually, I am looking to improve my footwork and controlling the ball and my passes. I am also looking to be more of a leader on the field. As a team, we are looking to improve our communication and effort at all times of the game. We want to never give up on 50/50 balls and go for everything we can.

Q What’s your favorite memory of competing on the Shawano girls soccer team?

A My favorite memory is when we won the regional final my freshman year for the first time for Shawano girls soccer. It was a very exciting game that I’m thankful I got to participate in!

Q Do you have any rituals you go through before a soccer match?

A Before a match, I do not have any specific rituals but I always try to make sure my mind is focused on the match I am about to play and not about anything else.

Q Do you look up to any particular athletes? If so, why them?

A I look up to Colleen McFarlane, she was a former player on our team. Not only was she very talented at soccer, but she was also a very encouraging leader and she always put everything she had onto the field. She inspires me to be a leader on our team and to stay positive and help my teammates out.

Q What is your favorite thing to do when you are not in school or competing in a high school sport?

A My favorite thing to do when not competing in a high school sport or school is show my sheep.

Q Favorite TV show, movie, musical artist?

A “Gilmore Girls,” “Divergent” and Luke Bryan or Charlie Puth.

Q Name one thing about yourself that not many people know.

A One thing about me that not many people know is that I enjoy to do paintings or other small art projects once in awhile.

Q Do you have a favorite quote, verse, or lyrics from a song?

A “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” — Philippians 4:13
