Jack Williams kicks off concert series

Jack Williams, master guitar player and songwriter, opens the 2018 concert series at Shawano County Historical Society’s Old Tabor Church in Heritage Park, 524 N. Franklin St., Shawano. Williams will perform at 7 p.m. Friday.

Williams’ amazing guitar licks and songwriting talents have earned him wide acclaim throughout the United States. Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary called Williams “the best guitar player I’ve ever heard.”

Tickets are $15 per concert for this and other performances in the series and are available at Glas Coffeehouse, Beans and Books, the Heritage Park Sikora Center and the church beginning one hour before performances.

Other concerts in the series will include Carolyn Carter, Arkansas-based gospel and folk singer-songwriter, on Aug. 3; Bryan Bowers, master of the autoharp, on Sept. 7; Sofia Talvik, award-winning Swedish songwriter, on Oct. 5; and Jutta and the Hi Dukes, world music performers, on Nov. 2
