30th Colorama trail ride to feature Neal McCoy concert

The 30th annual Colorama fall trail ride, called Wisconsin’s largest trail ride with more than 1,000 horses participating, is being held Oct. 4-7 at W12721 Buss Road, Caroline, presented by the Caroline Lions Club.

The activities will kick off Oct. 4 with live music by Austin Healy from 7:30-11:30 p.m. The free dance is sponsored by Fireworks Country and Shawano Well Drilling.

To celebrate 30 years of trail rides, national recording star Neal McCoy will give a concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 5. Tickets are limited for this special event; call 715-851-5799. Music by The 308s will follow.

Breakfast will be served from 7-10 a.m. Oct. 6, and the trail ride will run from 10 a.m. to noon. Lunch will be served on the trail. Horse-drawn wagon rides, vendors, crafts, food stands and a fur trader rendezvous are also featured. Horseshoe and bean bag toss tournaments will begin at 1 p.m. Entry fee is $20 for a two-person team. Deadline to enter is noon Saturday; call Mike Suehring at 715-250-2100 to sign up.

The band Driftwood will perform from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Oct. 6.

The Lions pancake breakfast will be served in the Lions building from 7-10:30 a.m. Oct. 7. The trail ride that Sunday will start at 9:30 a.m. with lunch on the trail. A huge parade at 1 p.m. will be followed by an auction and raffle drawing, with proceeds going toward the Lions Camp. To enter the parade, call Ron Polzin at 715-754-2080.
