Track and field: Tigerton girls take third at invite

Clintonville hosts triangular

First-place finishes from Monika Minniecheske and Mary Kreklow helped the Tigerton High School girls track and field team come in third at the Wild Rose Six-Team Invite on Tuesday.

Minniecheske won the long jump with a leap of 14 feet, 4 inches. She also placed second in the 300-meter hurdles (56.13 seconds) and fourth in the 100 hurdles (19.53) and triple jump (30-10).

Mary Kreklow won 3,200 with a time of 16:03.48. Teammate Bethany Kreklow was the only other competitor in the 2-mile, finishing with a time of 17:36.03.

Tigerton’s Elizabeth Robbins placed third in the 200 (30.46) and Ladia Block was fourth in the high jump (4-02).

The Tigerton boys scored eight points and took fifth. Nathaen Wanta came in fourth in the 300 hurdles (1:01.96) to lead the team.

The Marion girls also participated at the invite. The girls team scored 32 points and took fourth, while the boys scored 18 points and also came in fourth.

Andi Elandt placed second in the shot put (27-05.5) and discus (83-00) for the girls. Dhonivan Haas was third in the long jump (17-04) to lead the boys.

Several Truckers place first at triangular

Clintonville turned in a total of eight first-place finishes at the Clintonville Triangular on Tuesday. The girls scored 57 points and took second, while the boys tied for second with 42 points.

Placing first for the girls team was Elly Arndt in the high jump (5-00) and 100 (13.11), Lizzy Weatherwax in the 800 (2:44.23), Allysin Booth in the 100 hurdles (15.8) and Aeriell Mohr in the discus (85-10.

Jasmine Wilson placed second in the 1,600 (6:15.31) and 3,200 (13:55.76), while Booth came in second in the long jump (14-04). Also placing second for the girls was Isabella Koeppen in the triple jump (28-05.5), Erika Oreskovich in the discus (76-08), Selina Torrez in the shot put (31-02) and Emma Zwirschitz in the 100 hurdles (17.86).

Jesse Wilson won the 1,600 (5:02) and 3,200 (11:39.84) for the boys. Wilson was also on the first-place finishing 4x800 relay team (9:51.99) that was rounded out by Joshua Wilson, Joseph Shelton and Austin Tosdale.

Placing second for the boys was Daniel Rohrer in the 400 (1:01.13) and Isaac Pyatskowit in the 1,600 (5:12.63) and 3,200 (11:54.33). The 4x400 relay team of Hayden Wojnowiak, Tanner Pari, Tucker Pari and Samuel Wittman took second in 51.23 seconds.

Boys team scores: 1. Luxemburg-Casco 86; t2. Wrightstown 42; T2. Clintonville 42.
