The hitters in the middle of a softball lineup are often the ones receiving praise and honor for all the runs they drive in. But its table-setters like Shawano senior Kate Hoffman that make those opportunities possible.

Hoffman bats atop the Hawks lineup and has certainly played her role of getting on base and offering the team’s power hitter ample opportunities to drive in runs.

Hoffman has posted at least one hit in each game this year and already has four multi-hit games. She has scored eight runs over the first six games — she scored four times in a 16-0 rout of Xavier on April 4, a game she also had three hits and drew two walks in.
