Pietz enjoys strong day at invite

Wittenberg-Birnamwood graduate and current Winona State athlete Maddy Pietz has enjoyed a strong start to her collegiate track and field career. The success continued at the UW-La Crosse’s Ashton May Invitational on April 6.

As an individual, she took second in the 100-meter dash finals with a time of 11.98 seconds. She qualified for the finals by placing second in the prelims with a time of 12.06.

The college freshman also helped the 4x100 relay team to a first-place finish in 47.06 seconds.

The Winona State women won the invitational by 77.5 points.

Wollenberg also places in La Crosse

Bonduel graduate and current athlete at UW-Stevens Point Travis Wollenberg also scored for his team at the Ashton May Invitational.

Wollenberg came in sixth in the 800, posting a time of 1:57.87.

The UW-Stevens Point men took second with 117.83 points.

Stewart competes at Hamline Invite

UW-River Falls track and field athlete Allison Stewart competed in a pair of events at the Hamline Invite on April 6.

Stewart, whose hometown is Tigerton but competed on the Gresham/Bowler co-op, took 12th in the 100 (13.71). She came in 21st in the 200 (28.65).
