Mary Kay Sadler

Mary Kay Sadler, 66, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. Mary was born on Jan. 8, 1953, in Shawano to June (Dickow) Hanstedt and the late Leslie Hanstedt. Mary is a Shawano High School graduate and went on to earn a degree in nursing. On Oct. 18, 1975, Mary was united in marriage to Joseph Sadler at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Joseph preceded Mary in death on May 7, 2018. Mary worked as a nurse for over 30 years at the Shawano Hospital and loved her job. In her free time, Mary enjoyed gardening, crocheting, traveling and wine tasting. She loved her place on the Wolf River and enjoyed the serenity of the water. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and a member of St. James Lutheran Church.

More than anything else, Mary loved her family. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, and sister and will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind.

Mary is survived by her son, Paul Sadler, of Shawano; her mother, June Hanstedt, of Shawano; her brother, Mark Hanstedt, of Shawano; and her sister, Nancy (Khlar Eckwahl) Hanstedt, of Texas. She is further survived by other extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Sadler; and her father, Leslie Hanstedt.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Friday, May 17, 2019, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Mark Drengler officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
