Wendell J. Penass

Wendell J. “Skull” Penass, 57, of Neopit, started his journey to the spirit world on Monday evening, May 13, 2019, in Green Bay.

Wendell was born May 2, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, a son of the late Arnold and Edith (Corn) Penass. He attended school in Chicago before moving to Neopit. He worked for many years at Menominee Tribal Enterprises, and later he was a semi driver. Wendell was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit. He enjoyed fishing, riding in the woods and hunting.

Survivors include his significant other, Kathy “Sue” Haack, of Neopit; three sons, Wendell Penass, of Keshena, Wade Penass, of Shawano, and Aaron Penass, of Gillett; one daughter, April Webster, of Green Bay; two grandchildren, Denzel Penass and Samuel Penass; his brother, Martin Penass, of Green Bay; his sister, Cass Penass, of Chicago; his aunts, Susan Oshkosh, of Keshena, and Elaine Oku, of Chicago; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

A funeral Mass for Wendell will be celebrated Friday, May 17, 2019, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit. The Rev. Nonito Barra will be the celebrant. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation began Wednesday, May 15, 2019, after 8 p.m. at the Neopit Community Center and will continue until the time of Mass on Friday.
