BABA Highlights

East-West Division

Bowler 9

Little Falls 2

Bowler knocked off Little Falls in a make-up game June 29. Little Falls, which did not play its scheduled Sunday game, fell to 6-1 on the season.

Paul Murphy pitched all nine innings to earn the win, striking out seven batters to work around 12 walks. He allowed just one hit. Murphy and Ezra Spencer each doubled for Bowler, which took advantage of 11 walks.

Seth Korb suffered the loss for Little Falls, pitching 6⅓ innings. Brock Gullixon had the team’s lone hit.

Leopolis 10

Bowler 4

Leopolis took down Bowler in the division’s only Sunday game. Leopolis improved to 3-4, while Bowler fell to 1-7.

Kasey Kristof pitched all nine innings to earn the win for Leopolis. Wylee Springborn and Nick Schoen each finished with two hits.

Logan Thiex was dealt the loss for Bowler, which had six players record a hit in the contest.

Northern Division

Antigo/Polar 5

Eland 3

Antigo/Polar topped Eland in a make-up game June 28.

Antigo/Polar made the most of its six hits in the game. Kyle Wagoner and Neil Bretl each had two hits, while Nick Marshall picked up the win on the mound.

Derek Kawalski took the loss for Eland. Shane Larson posted two of the team’s seven hits.

Birnamwood 4

Eland 2

Birnamwood doubled up Eland to improve to 6-1 on the summer. Eland is 4-4 overall.

Brady Erickson led Birnamwood with a trio of hits, while Timmy Rew had two. Zach Bembenek earned the win on the hill, allowing two runs over seven innings.

Shane Larson again led Eland with a pair of hits. Jacob Ligenza took the loss after working two innings.

Hatley 16

Wittenberg 1

Hatley eased past Wittenberg to jump to 4-1 overall, while Wittenberg fell to 1-7.

Josh Nielson, John Breske, John Matushak and Sam Nielson all tallied three hits for Hatley. Breske struck out nine batters over eight innings to earn the win.

Dom Anderson took the loss for Wittenberg. Will Urquhart doubled for one of Wittenberg’s three hits.

South Central Division

Waupaca 4

Scandinavia 2

Waupaca doubled up Scandinavia in a make-up game June 29. Waupaca moved to 6-0, while Scandinavia fell to 5-2.

Jake Pankratz picked up the win for Waupaca after pitching seven innings and not allowing a run. Jake Popham had two hits, while Tyler Goggins belted a three-run homer. Luke Behm homered among his two hits.

Jeremy Dunnihoo took the tough loss for Scandinavia. R.J. Rosenthal led the offense with two hits, while Jesse Dickert reached base three times.

None of the scheduled Sunday division games were played.
