Shawano couple's plant growing more than potatoes

It has potatoes underground, but on the bush part of the plant there is something else.

Roger and Barb Erickson noticed the small, round, green, tomato-like fruit on their plant when they got back from vacation recently. Since then they have been trying to figure out exactly what is growing in their backyard.

"It made him doubt what he planted," Barb said.

Bonduel woman donates bone marrow

After being on the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry for 16 years, Bonduel resident Lorna Buelow at long last was able to help save a life.

The mother of three didn't give it a second thought when she learned she was a perfect match for an 8-year-old girl with leukemia.

"I was so excited and just thrilled when I found out," Buelow said. "To me it was an honor and a blessing to be able to do something like this."

Though nerves were rampant the day of her surgery, Buelow said she had no desire to back out at the last minute.
