Shawano baseball beats Jaguars 4-1

ASHWAUBENON The Shawano baseball team rebounded from their loss to DePere on Tuesday with a 4-1 win over Bay Conference foe Ashwaubenon on Thursday.

Both teams scored early as the pitching and defense took over the rest of the game. Neither team scored beyond the second inning as the Hawks scored two in the first and two in the second, before yielding their only run in the bottom of the second.

Bears pull away to beat Weyauwega

BONDUEL Scoring a combined seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings, the Bonduel softball team broke open a 6-6 game on their way to a 13-8 win over Weyauwega Thursday afternoon.

The Bears had four players with three hits as they pounded out 17 total hits in the game. Shelly Buettner was 3-for-4 on the day with 3 RBI to lead Bonduel. Jana Pues, Megan Bishop and Rachel Watters also had three hits for the Bears.

Reiter paces Hawks to third

SHAWANO The Shawano boys track team had a very successful meet Thursday afternoon hosting the Shawano Invite and placing third in the eight-team event. The Hawks had five first place and four second place finishes in the meet totaling 129.5 points. The girls squad placed eight in the meet with 31 points, while placing three times in the top three.
