Myrna J. Zhuckkahosee Jackson

Myrna Jean Zhuckkahosee Jackson Bergen, Spirit Name “Me-Theip-Pia” (Baby Eagle), 74, of Shawano, passed away on Feb. 16, 2016, at Appleton Medical Center. Myrna was born on May 20, 1941, in Keshena, a daughter of the late James “Jim” and Matilda “Tillie” (Waupoose) Zhuckkahosee. She attended St. Joseph’s School in Keshena and later graduated from Shawano Senior High School in 1960. On Sept. 11, 1976, she married the love of her life, Thomas Bergen. The couple lived in both Chicago and Wisconsin. She loved her Christmas vacation to Las Vegas every year. Myrna had been employed with Checker Taxi Cab Company of Chicago for 24 years. She also worked as a jeweler, creating her own jewelry. She enjoyed making bead work and sweet grass baskets. Myrna also enjoyed doing her quill work on white birch bark.

Therese P. Mannino

Therese P. Mannino, 91, of Shawano, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, Feb. 15, 2016, in Shawano.

Therese was born on June 30, 1924 in Chicago, a daughter of the late Biasi and Catherine (Varallo) Miraglia. She attended school in Chicago, graduating from Austin High School. Following high school, she went to work at Marshall Field’s department store. She married John Mannino in Chicago, where the couple lived until 1993 when they moved to Round Lake Beach, Illinois. Her husband preceded her in death in 1999. Shortly thereafter, Therese moved to the town of Wescott.

While living in Shawano, Therese attended St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Cecil. She loved cooking, gardening and knitting, as well as the occasional trip to the casino.

Therese spent many years caring for her son, John “Jack” Mannino. She was an avid Chicago Bears fan.

Myrna Jackson, 74, of Shawano, began her journey to the Spirit World on Tuesday morning, Feb. 16, 2016, in Appleton.

Mickelson Funeral & Cremation Service of Shawano is assisting the family with arrangements.

Funeral service arrangements are pending and will be announced at a later date.

Roger W. “Buck” Hoffman, formerly of Gresham, passed away on Feb. 16, 2016, at the age of 77.

David E. Le May

David E. Le May, 78, of Shawano, died on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016.

David was born on Aug. 5, 1937, in Worcestor, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Wilfred and Irene (Picard) Le May.

David served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957-1961 and was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Keshena.

David is survived by his children, Michele (DeWayne Taylor), Mark (Catherine), Steven and Michael; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maryann Roach and Virginia Reidy, one brother, Michael Le May; and several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Dee Dee Le May.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Albert H. Popp

Albert “Al” Henry Popp, 69, of Shawano, passed away on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, in Appleton.

Al was born on Sept. 29, 1946, in Shawano, the son of the late Walter A. and Sybil (Moesch) Popp. He was united in marriage to Jacquelyn “Jacky” Tinsman on April 23, 1966, in Shawano.

Al had a good sense of humor and always loved meeting new people. He was a history buff, often reading about both World War II and the Korean War.

Al enjoyed musky fishing and loved his dogs, Charlie, Peggy, and Gracie. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Al is survived by his wife, Jacky; one son, Wade (Jenny) Popp; and one granddaughter, Bethany. He is further survived by his two brothers, Marvin (Judi) Popp and Howard (Shirley) Popp, and one sister, Karen (Steve) Van Ryzin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gerald Moesch.

MJ McBride

MJ McBride died on Feb. 13, 2016, in Shawano, after a brief battle with cancer.

MJ began life on Nov. 25, 1947. He was the son of the late Charles and Ramona (Krueger) McBride. He was a brother to Gwen (Charlie) Koeller, Lon (Julie) McBride, Kelly (Mike) Meidam, Charla (Tim) Martin and Terre (Ron) Retzlaff.

MJ attended Shawano schools and graduated in 1966. He married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Zeman, on April 2, 1965, and so began their 51-year journey. From their loving union, their son Dean was born.

MJ had a long and successful racing career, spanning over 40 years, that took him and Marilyn to many tracks throughout the country. Along the way, their racing family grew to include many great friends. He owned and operated Brickform Concrete in Shawano before retiring in 2010.

Norbert F. Hein

Norbert F. Hein, 87, of Black Creek, passed away on Sunday morning, Feb. 14, 2016, at his home with his wife by his side. He was born on July 10, 1928, son of the late Fred and Bertha (Stregel) Hein. On July 2, 1947, he was united in marriage to Grace Koepke.

Norbert farmed until his retirement and always said farming was what he enjoyed the most. He also liked hunting, fishing and his family.

He was a member of Cicero Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1947.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Grace; a special cat, Soxie; and good friend, Wally Duhm; also nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerome (Lucille) Hein.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at Cicero Immanuel Lutheran Church, N9580 County Road X, Black Creek, from 1 p.m. until services at 3 p.m. with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.

Hazel M. Aggen

Hazel M. Aggen, 84, Wittenberg, died on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at Ministry St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston.

She was born on Aug. 17, 1931, in the town of Morris, Shawano County, the daughter of the late Peter and Alice (Eggleston) Erickson. On Nov. 6, 1948, Hazel was united in marriage to Donald Aggen in Birnamwood. He survives.

The couple farmed in the town of Morris for many years. Hazel worked as a store clerk for Gwidt Pharmacy, Wittenberg, for many years until her retirement. She was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, town of Morris, where she sang in the church choir. She was currently a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wittenberg.

Hazel enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling and polkas. She also enjoyed golfing and once had a hole in one at Maple Hills Golf Course, Wittenberg.

Edward A. Riske

Edward “Ed” A. Riske, 65, of the town of Dupont, Waupaca County, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, in Hennepin County, Minnesota, where he was in an accident involving his semi.

The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Marion is assisting his family with the arrangements.
