Dick Zastrow

Dick Zastrow, 78, of Two Rivers, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, as the result of an automobile accident.

Dick was born in Shawano on Sept. 9, 1938, to the late Alvin and Eva (Mass) Zastrow. He was a 1956 graduate of Shawano High School and served over nine years with the U.S. Army Reserves. On Sept. 19, 1959, he married Rose Mary Haut at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. Dick was retired from Fisher Hamilton of Two Rivers after over 40 years of service.

Since Dick was a young man, he was known not only for his hunting, sporting clays and fishing abilities, but also his genuine care and compassion for God’s creatures. Knowing Dick meant that you likely would hunt with one of his English setters, meet his red squirrel, pet raccoon, or any one of the many birds that he nursed back to health and released. Maybe you’d even see him driving down the road with a Cooper’s hawk perched on his daughter’s arm, looking out the car window.
