Roland J. Clinton

Roland “Joe” J. Clinton, 84, of the Township of Bear Creek, Waupaca County, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.

The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, is assisting the family.

Florence Feger

Florence Feger, 97, of Antigo, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016, at home under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was born on Oct. 13, 1918, to Amanda and Henry Korth.

Florence married Lyle Montoure on March 16, 1935. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1961. She married Robert Feger on Aug. 12, 1963. He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1992.

She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon Malueg (Merlyn), Sandra Spencer (Ron) and Deborah Willis (Ray “Bear” Bruch); a stepson, Robert Feger Jr.; 17 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her two husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons, Duane and Dave Montoure, and two daughters, Yvonne Silva and Cynthia Boyd.

Private services funeral/memorial will be held April 9 at Neva Town Hall at 1 p.m.

Memorials can be directed to LeRoyer Hospice in the name of Florence Feger at 1125 Fifth Ave., Antigo, WI 54409.

Danny L. Schmidt

Danny Lee “Howard” “Bubba” Schmidt, 61, of Gresham, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, in Appleton. The son of the late Clyde and Marjorie (Ringel) Schmidt was born on July 20, 1954, in Shawano.

Danny enjoyed feeding the deer, fishing, collecting caps and taking car rides, especially past the farm. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to polka music and Johnny Cash, and never missed an episode of “The Price is Right.” He was an avid Brewers, Packers and NASCAR fan. He loved Bubba sandwiches with Sun Drop, no ice. More than anything, he enjoyed being with his family and spoiling his nieces and nephews.

Bessie Kuckuk

Bessie Kuckuk died on March 28, 2016. She was born on Sept. 20, 1921, to the late Arthur and Inez (Dengel) Harbath.

After graduating from Scandinavia High School, Bess went on to Milwaukee School of Nursing, where she got her registered nurse degree. After her position at St. John’s Military Academy in Delafield, she joined the Army Nurse Corps. She served in England and France with the 199th General Hospital during World War II. After returning home, she married John “Jack” Kuckuk.

Bess was a long-term member of the First Presbyterian Church in Shawano, where she served in various times as a Sunday school teacher, a deacon and sponsor of the youth group.

Bess was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, her parents and brothers, Arthur Junior Harbath and Clyde Harbath.

Jonathan J. Corn Sr.

Jonathan J. “Jon” Corn Sr., 61, began his spiritual journey to be with his daughter, Jackie, on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at his home in Neopit.

Jonathan was born on Nov. 10, 1954, in Keshena to the late Harold and Margaret (Caldwell) Young. On June 9, 1973, he married his wife of 43 years, Nanette (Pamonicutt) Corn, and was blessed with four beautiful children, 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mark E. Krueger

Mark E. Krueger, 70, Shawano, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Theda Clark Medical Center surrounded by his family. The son of Emil and Gertrude (Beversdorf) Krueger was born on Oct. 22, 1945, in Shawano.

Mark was a 1963 graduate of Shawano High School. He later attended Green Bay Vocational School for business and went on to proudly serve our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On May 29, 1971, Mark was united in marriage with Rose Isaacson at Bethel Lutheran Church in the town of Green Valley. He was a member of A-Z investment club and was a lifetime member of St. James Church, where he held an office every year from ages 25-66.

David L. Gerondale

David L. Gerondale, 71, of Shawano, beloved husband of Carol (Heston) Gerondale, departed this life on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah.

Dave was born on Oct. 18, 1944 in Forestville, son of Madeline (Gilson) Gerondale and the late Melvin Gerondale. He was raised on a farm until moving to Green Bay and graduated from Premontre Catholic High School, Class of 1962.

Dave married Marcine Lessmiller in 1964, and they raised three sons. He worked at U.S. Plywood in Algoma and Mrs. Karl’s Bakery in Green Bay. Dave worked for Wisconsin Public Service, which became the City of Green Bay Transit System, as a bus driver. He was promoted in 1979 to superintendent of operations, retiring in 2007 after 40 years. He later married Carol in 1989.

Marie Gilray

Marie Dickman Gilray, 100, of Birnamwood, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016, at the Homme Home of Wittenberg under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was born on Sept. 22, 1915, the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (Gueller) Dickman.

Marie graduated from Birnamwood High School in 1933. On Feb. 26, 1937, Marie was united in marriage to Russell J. Gilray in Birnamwood. He preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1990. Marie was retired from Marathon Electric, where she worked for over 25 years.

Marie was an active and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Birnamwood, all her life and a member of its Ladies Aid, which she would help with funeral lunches. In her younger years, Marie enjoyed dancing, and she and Russell belonged to a birthday dancing club. She enjoyed listening to Lawrence Welk and was a wonderful cook and baker, and enjoyed making meals for her family.

Marie and her husband enjoyed camping at Lake Nokomis with their family for many years.

Francis Strauss

Francis “Fran” Strauss, 72, Shawano, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, March 28, 2016, from congestive heart failure. He was a vivacious, warm-hearted person, a charismatic storyteller and an important person in the lives of those who were close to him. He led a full, interesting and unique life.

The first-born son of the late Franklin and Eleanor (Beversdorf) Strauss arrived on July 15, 1943, in Shawano. He grew up on his local family farm, graduating from SHS in 1961. He majored in chemistry at UW-Stevens Point, leaving there to enter the Army. He was stationed in Saigon, Vietnam, and South Korea. In his later years, Fran proudly wore his veteran’s cap.
