Michael B. Springston

Michael “Myke” B. Springston, 56, of the town of Wescott, Shawano, went home to be with his loving and faithful companion, Midnight, at his home on Friday evening, Feb. 26, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

Myke had struggled with his diabetes for many years.

Myke was born on May 26, 1959, in Galveston, Texas. He moved to Wisconsin and was employed as a truck driver for several years. He was an avid gamer and fleaer with Zurko Inc. of Shawano. He loved his pit bull dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Amy Jo Conell, of Shawano; two children, Nikki Springston, of Milwaukee, and Christopher (Jenny) Fralick, of San Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren; and his faithful companions, Baby, Caesar and Sugar.

Private family services will be held for Myke at a later date.

Mickelson Funeral & Cremation Service of Shawano is assisting the family with arrangements.

Michael W. Marquette

Michael William Marquette, 56, of Shawano, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, in Waukesha. Born on May 3, 1959, in Shawano, he was the son of the late Harry and Margaret (Bierman) Marquette.

Mike enjoyed hunting, playing cards, going to the casino, helping others, and above all sharing his time with family and friends.

Mike is survived by his wife, Jana; his son, Robert (Amber) Gauthier, of Germany; siblings, Beverly Marquette, of Eureka, California, Harry G. (Lynne) Marquette, of Lake Geneva, Larry Marquette, of Shawano, Jim Marquette, of Manitowoc, Carol Conklin, of Foxboro, Donna (Jerald) Lampinen Hudziak, of Weyauwega, Karen (Arvin) Block, of Eagle, Joseph Marquette, of Mountain, Victoria (Thomas) Wegner, of Oconomowoc, Randy Marquette, of Shawano, and Robert Marquette, of St. Cloud.

Lorraine A. Busch

Lorraine A. Busch, 91, of Bonduel, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, after a recent illness.

Lorraine was born in the town of Washington, Shawano County, on June 26, 1924, to the late Edward and Marie (Hinkfuss) Radloff. On Nov. 7, 1942, in Abilene, Texas, she was united in marriage to Leonard Busch. Leonard preceded her in death on March 19, 2002. She worked as a bookkeeper at Heck Hardware Store for 35 years.

Faith was very important to Lorraine. She loved being a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was active with the Altar Guild and enjoyed working on the church bulletins. She enjoyed volunteering at the Bonduel Community Archives and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She also volunteered to read to the second-grade children at St. Paul Lutheran School.

Patricia E. Schuelke

Patricia “Pat” E. Schuelke, 85, of Shawano, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday evening, Feb. 27, 2016, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano, with her loving family by her side.

Pat was born May 28, 1930, in Sheboygan, a daughter of the late Edgar and Loretta (Block) Bahn. She attended Shawano Schools, graduating from Shawano High School in 1948. Following high school, she attended Concordia Teachers College in River Forest for two years. She then returned to Shawano, where she met the love of her life, Elroy D. Schuelke. The couple was united in marriage on April 21, 1951, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. The couple lived in the Shawano area their entire married life. Elroy preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1993.

Jennifer L. Heling

Jennifer L. Heling, 61, of the town of Waukechon, Shawano, went to her Eternal Home on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

Jenny was born on Aug. 28, 1954, in Shawano, a daughter of Linda (Domke) Boerst and the late Myron Boerst. She attended Shawano schools, graduating from Shawano High School in 1972. On June 12, 1976, she was united in marriage to Dohn Heling at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Jenny and Dohn were blessed with one child, Amanda.

Jenny worked in her home for many years, taking care of several children whom she treated like her own. She enjoyed taking care of children and being with her family. Later in life, Jenny’s pride and joy were her grandchildren, and she loved spending time with them. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano. Her hobbies included reading, making blankets for the kids, and tending to her flower gardens.

Patricia E. Schuelke

Patricia “Pat” E. Schuelke, 85, of Shawano, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday evening, Feb. 27, 2016, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano, with her loving family by her side.

Funeral service arrangements will be announced on Thursday, March 3, 2016, in the Leader.

Margery H. Muck

Margery H. Muck, 88, of Shawano, passed away on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016.

Margery was born in the town of Washington, Shawano County, on April 21, 1927, to the late Henry and Hulda (Matthe) Meisner. On July 20, 1946, she was united in marriage to Robert Muck at Peace Evangelical and Reform Church in Shawano.

Robert and Margery owned and operated a dairy farm for many years. Margie also did the bookkeeping for several other area businesses. In her free time, she enjoyed being active with Lady Loons, several homemakers groups, Ducks Unlimited, Peace United Church of Christ, as well as 4-H, where she volunteered as a leader for over 50 years.

Margery also served as the town clerk for the town of Herman for several years.

Gerald E. Cornelius Sr.

Gerald Eugene “Corny” Cornelius Sr., 78, of Shawano, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, Feb. 29, 2016.

Gerald was born on Oct. 5, 1937, in Shawano, the son of the late Palmer and Murial (Wicklund) Cornelius. He was united in marriage to Shirley Hanson on Jan. 30, 1960, in Navarino.

Gerald worked in Milwaukee at GMC and later at the U.S. Postal Service. He moved back to Shawano and was employed by FWD and 3D Fire Apparatus and Elite Fire Apparatus of Tilleda before retiring.

Gerald was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, enjoyed watching stock car racing and shooting pool. He was an avid Packers fan and loved watching his grandchildren play sports.

Gerald loved his family; he adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as much as he loved life. His sweet smile and soft blue eyes were a true reflection of his big heart, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Elda Schutt

Elda Schutt, 85, of Clover Leaf Lakes, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, in Shawano.

Elda Mae Ida was born to John A. and Barbara (Degner) Kruse on May 13, 1930. On Nov. 6, 1948, Elda was united in marriage to Reinhold R. Schutt at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Reinhold preceded Elda in death on March 2, 2004.

Elda enjoyed country western music, country western TV, and had a passion for reading. Her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren.
