Hawks fifth at Hortonville

Shawano shot a fifth-place 216 at the Bay Conference meet Wednesday at Grand View Golf Course in Hortonville.

Shawano was two strokes behind Seymour (214).

Marinette won the meet with a score of 173.

Shawano's Leslie Lambries led the scoring for her team with a 47. Lamberies was tied with Marinette's Kayla Parthie, Denmark's Amanda Tilot and Oconto Falls' Bri Staszak for eighth place.

The Shawano girls golf team split its first two matches of the season Wednesday, losing 7-0 in Pulaski and beating Green Bay West 6-1.<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->In Green Bay, Shawano's Helena Klemens beat West's Jenny Lee in two sets, 6-1, 6-3. Also for Shawano: Molly Buettner beat Sam Nabreck (6-1, 7-5), Rachel Tierney beat Taylor Wager-Smith (6-0, 6-2) and Jordan Reimer beat Courtney Goodletson (6-2, 6-1).<br /><br /><!-- 1upcrlf2 -->Doubles action saw Shawano's only loss.
