how to find the right job that suits your personality shawano leader

A fish cannot survive on land, just like a lover of literature cannot be expected to enjoy a science lesson. Every person has a different leaning, and there is a career that aligns with it. If you dread going to the office, the problem may be the type of work you are doing. It might not suit your personality. But that’s perfectly natural, as not every job can satisfy every individual.

Finding the right career for the very first time isn’t always possible. What is possible is to match yourself with work that aligns with your personality. Such a job is not a job anymore but an extension of your personality. The work comes naturally to you. So, how can you find such a job? This article will provide effective tips for finding work that aligns with your personality.

Are You an Introvert or an Extrovert?

The first step in uncovering the right career path is assessing your personality. There are two kinds of people: introverts, who desire minimal human interaction and extroverts, who love talking to people. Some of the high-paying jobs for introverts include those of a data entry professional, freelance writer, lab technician, and marriage therapist. Such jobs majorly require you to absorb and assimilate the information you get, research, and execute the task without much talking.

If you are an extrovert, explore options in sales and customer service. Other suitable options include event planning, teaching, and consulting.

Are You a Creative Individual?

Individuals with this personality type tend to be unconventional and empathetic in their behaviour. They enjoy spending time with small groups of people and get joy out of helping others. Although creators enjoy building connections with a few people, they also need time on their own to relax, recharge, and think about life. Since these individuals are expressive and artistic, they do not enjoy desk jobs.

On the other hand, they thrive in roles like dancers, graphic designers, musicians, editors, painters, and interior designers, as it gives them an outlet to express themselves.

Do You Have an Enterprising Nature?

Are you someone who enjoys exercising your influence over others (not in a bad sense)? Well, you will undoubtedly excel in sales, development, promotional, and organizational roles.

Individuals with this personality type are confident, optimistic, and ambitious. You can find many CEOs across the world with an enterprising nature. The unique blend of qualities and traits that this personality type possesses enables them to achieve success despite hurdles.

Love Organizing and Planning?

Do you have a knack for organizing your surroundings? Does striking off every task at the end of each day in your to-do list give you an indescribable feeling of joy? If yes, you have an organizer personality type.

A good role where you can excel is that of an event planner, where you keep track of every detail like guest list, cost, invitations, accomodations, etc. You can also take the job of a personal assistant, managing your employer’s daily schedule or a wedding planner where you organize someone’s big day. Other ideal jobs would be that of a travel agent, project manager, and even a real estate agent!

Do You Enjoy Building and Crafting Things?

If you like working with machines or even your hands to build things, you have a builder personality type. These individuals are realistic, no-nonsense, outdoorsy, and active. They prefer working with ‘things’ and are highly independent.

Builders thrive in jobs that come with external markers for achievement. They want to achieve tangible success in their work, such as greater sales figures, more page views, and the like. Some ideal careers for builder personality types are that of an airline pilot, civil engineer, police officer, electrical engineer, and construction manager.

Are You a People Person?

Are you fond of helping others with the end result of improving their life? You may have a helper personality type, which stands out with traits like compassion, empathy, kindness, generosity, and patience. Such people prefer roles that involve teaching, assisting, or serving others to affect their lives positively.

Some good roles for individuals with this personality include that of human resource managers and physical therapists. They also excel in other jobs, such as genetic counsellors, occupational therapists, nurses, and counsellors.

Summing up

It is essential for an individual to know their natural inclinations to discover a suitable career path. Knowing yourself and your personality will help you find what makes you unique and the jobs where you can truly make your mark. Since you spend the majority of your life at your job, it is crucial to embark on the right career path by understanding your likes and dislikes. This will enable you to choose the best career where you can contribute your bit to society.
