Communication is crucial for maintaining a good working environment. Excellent communication is the secret ingredient for creating a successful working team. Unfortunately, not every organization has established good communication within the organization. On average, businesses lose over $10,000 per year due to bad communication.

Establishing a good relationship with colleagues will not just improve the workflow, but also improve the whole company climate. This means that with a good company climate, you can achieve your goals faster and more effectively.

You can create schedule meetings or get together just to improve the communication flow within your organization. Try to understand how your employees are feeling and what they need from you in order to do their best for the team.

  • Create a Communication-Friendly Ambient

One of the most important things for you as a manager is to create the perfect ambient for working that does not corrupt the communication within your organization. Creating a communication-friendly space is a bit difficult and cannot be done overnight. You need to create a space where employees do not feel pressure to share their feelings or fear if they will be punished for their actions. Encouraging information share will massively improve your company climate. Also, you, as a company owner, must be available at all times for everything that your employees need from you. You should try to keep an open-door policy that will contribute to your approachable character.

  • Offer Anonymous Feedback

You need to understand that some employees are more caved in than others, and they don’t want to share information or give feedback that does not go along with the company decisions. This means that you don’t know where your organization is going, and it can often be misleading. For example, you might think that everything is perfect, but if you dig deeper into the relationships within the organization, you will find chaos. That is why you need to provide anonymous feedback where employees will be able to share something without unveiling their identity.

With today’s technology and digitalization, we often forget to speak face to face for our problems or share daily information. Human interaction is necessary for establishing excellent communication without disrupting the workflow.

  • Master Your Body Language

Remember that non-verbal communication is also an essential factor for leaders to consider. As a leader, you have a huge impact on the people around you, and you should translate your thoughts through your body language.

This means that you need to present yourself as an approachable person with positive physical presence:

  • Smile More;
  • Maintain an upright posture;
  • Maintain eye contact;
  • Get Rid of All Devices While Talking;
  • Avoid Crossing Your Arms;

 

  • Take the Time to Listen

In order to establish good communication between two parties, you need to learn to listen to other people’s problems, solutions, feedback, or ideas. You should try to feel excited when other people are talking or concerned when the other person is concerned. That way, you will present yourself as an understanding individual.

Here are some ideas on how to improve your listening:

  • Be present while other people talk;
  • Be comfortable with silence;
  • Take the time to repeat;

These are some of the tips you need to apply to your organization in order to improve your communication. Communicating is everything.
