Corporate ski trips are grossly underrated. They allow you to see people in their true light and offer a good opportunity to get close to stakeholders and some of your most important employees. They can also reinforce the feeling of unity among people on your team and are great if you want to make some of your top-performing employees feel special. And, if you choose the right spot, there will be tons of other possible entertainment options and space for your employees to get some freedom. Let’s take a look at some of the reasons why corporate ski trips are a great idea and how to plan the perfect one.

Why Corporate Ski Trips Make Sense

One of the reasons why ski trips are perfect for teams is that they can be had over a quick weekend. You don’t need to go to another country and booking accommodation will be much cheaper than if you decide to go to some exotic locale.

But one of the reasons why you should strongly consider a ski trip for your next corporate trip is how much buzz it will generate in your ranks. Having your employees actually look forward to a corporate trip is great since they’ll be happier, and this will present a better image of your team to clients or private stakeholders who will be traveling with you. You can also expect to get more appreciation from your team, which means that they will want to work harder and be more loyal to you. Not to mention that many of them might turn into ambassadors for you either while working with you or when they leave as a result.

Last, but not least, ski resorts are wonderful places to be in general, and you’ll truly enjoy your time there. So, consider going for this option if you want something truly special that everyone present will remember.

How to Plan the Perfect Corporate Ski Trip

The very first thing you have to do is book your destination as soon as possible. If you want to go somewhere that’s very busy, like Aspen, for instance, it would be a good idea to book at least three months in advance. This will ensure that you’ll get your accommodation set up properly and avoid logistic issues.

You also have to see whether the resort in question offers specials for corporate groups, or if you can get some sort of deal through an agent. There are travel agencies who work specifically with ski resorts that can give you advantageous packages covering not only skiing and accommodation, but purchases made at establishments in the resort too.

Speaking of establishments, we suggest that you go to a resort that will have everything you need on-site or nearby. Go for a resort that has plenty of entertainment and dining options with late-night skiing options. This will allow you and the people on your team to have some fun on their own if they want without having to stray away.

Dress Properly

If this will be your first time going on a ski trip, you have to make sure that you are dressed properly. You will need to invest in a proper ski mask, goggles, and headgear. We also suggest you start looking for a high-quality winter jacket. Something like a Moncler Jacket would be a great option here. Not only will it keep you warm, but it will be a sure conversation starter if you’re among connoisseurs. Don’t forget your boots and mittens and invest in some foot warmers just in case things get really cold. Other things you should look at include neck gaiters, ear-warming headbands, and ski pants/suits.

Don’t Forget Food and Hydration

People often forget or aren’t aware of how physically demanding skiing is and how thirsty and hungry you can get on the slopes. Taking off your boots and having to go somewhere just to get some snacks or drinks is not usually an option, so you need to pack a few snacks with you to keep you sustained without having to interrupt your sessions. Energy bars are a great option to consider as they don’t take up too much space while being highly nutritious. Trail mix and a good ole PB and J can do the trick too. You should also look into hydration packs specifically made for skiing as they will allow you to get a quick sip of water wherever you are without having to take anything out.

Corporate ski trips should be considered by more teams because of how exciting they can be. They can also be a good way to bring all your people together and get some work done as well.
